Piedmont Park Garden Tent Wedding | Atlanta

Laura + Simon got married on a hot summer day in August 2019 at the Piedmont Garden Tent at Park Tavern. It also happened to be the same day as Reggae Fest in the park, so there was music drifting over from the other side of the lawn and plenty of people out enjoying the day. We loved every bit of it.

The Garden Tent sits right on the edge of Piedmont Park, with the Midtown skyline over the trees. The same team runs the Piedmont Room up the hill, where we also shot Amy + Andrew’s wedding.

Getting Ready

Laura’s gown was all lace, and her bridesmaids helped lace her into it. Simon and his guys got ready together in a black tux with an anemone on his lapel, and of course they made time for a toast.

The Ceremony on the Lawn

The ceremony was out on the lawn next to the tent, with rows of gold chairs, flowers along the grass aisle and a stone wall with an arched doorway at the front. Laura’s dad walked her down the aisle to Simon, and the two of them said their vows with all of their guests close around them.

Portraits in Piedmont Park

Afterward we took the whole wedding party out onto the terrace, and then walked Laura + Simon into the park for portraits with the city behind them. Being in the middle of Piedmont Park on a busy summer Saturday means you get some company. One guy on a bike waved at us from right behind them, and we kept it!

The Reception Under the Tent

Back under the tent it was all string lights, greenery and white drapes, with a checkerboard dance floor in the middle. Park Tavern took care of the food, and the cake was blush with white roses. Laura + Simon had their first dance, Simon danced with his mom, and our photo booth kept everyone busy the rest of the night.
