Madison + Adam became friends on MySpace back in high school. Yes, MySpace! All these years later, they kept their wedding small and put all of their attention on fall. Their micro wedding at the Dunwoody Nature Center had pumpkins, sunflowers, fallen leaves and a flower arch in every fall color you can think of.
If you’re looking for a small wedding in the Atlanta area that feels like it’s out in the woods, the Dunwoody Nature Center is a great one to know about. The ceremony was on a wood deck surrounded by trees, right next to a screened pavilion with string lights glowing inside.

The Fall Details
Madison + Adam made the arch themselves, and it was covered in deep reds, oranges, purples and soft pinks, with pumpkins on both sides of it. The leaves on the deck were a detail nobody had to plan. Adam’s dark green suit and the officiant’s burgundy jacket fit right in with all of it, and so did the guests in their velvet and fall colors.

The Ceremony
Our favorite thing about a micro wedding is how close everyone gets to be. There was no long aisle here, just the people they love standing around them on the deck.
Madison came up the steps on her dad’s arm, laughing with her sunflower bouquet from Trader Joe’s, and Adam couldn’t stop smiling when he saw her.

There were tears on both sides, and not just from the two of them.

The rings got a big laugh, and then there was a long hug before the kiss.

Not everyone could be there in person, so a guest held up a phone and they got to say hello on a video call.

A Few Minutes Together
After the ceremony we took Madison + Adam out on the trails for a few quiet minutes. There’s a little wood footbridge tucked into the trees, and the ferns, purple wildflowers and gravel paths made it easy to find pretty spots close by.

The Reception
Dinner was in the screened pavilion, so everyone was still out in the trees. They made the centerpieces themselves too, with wood slices, green glass vases, candles, pinecones and flowers, and every seat had mini pumpkins, green glasses and gold rimmed plates. DelBar handled the catering.

And then Madison changed her shoes. She swapped into pearl Crocs covered in charms under her gown from David’s Bridal, and we loved them.

Madison + Adam, congratulations!
