Wedding Ceremony: the first kiss under the chapel's three white arches, at their wedding at The Wildflower 301 in Greensboro, GA

“Hooray, hooray, it’s Austin’s big day!”

That’s what the sign said, and it was right. Austin + Payton got married at The Wildflower 301 in Greensboro, about an hour east of Atlanta near Lake Oconee. It was a spring day full of purple flowers, dusty blue dresses and a few surprises we didn’t see coming (more on the frisbee later).

The Wildflower 301 is a historic white mansion with a wraparound porch, two acres of gardens and an outdoor chapel with three tall white arches. Couples get ready inside the mansion, get married out in the garden and then head over to the Celebration House for the reception.

The Details

Austin’s flowers were all purple anemones, white roses and delphinium, and her blue suede heels matched the dusty blue her bridesmaids wore. Her engagement ring is a sapphire, so blue was everywhere. We even caught a peek of the chapel through the stained glass window upstairs.

Getting Ready

Austin got ready with her girls in matching floral pajamas, and Payton got ready in his sunglasses. Of course.

The First Look

Payton waited out front of the mansion, Austin tapped him on the shoulder, and then there was the biggest hug on the porch.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was out in the gardens at the chapel, with purple and white flowers on both sides of the arch and petals down the aisle. One of the groomsmen celebrated the kiss a little harder than the rest (see below).

The Reception

The reception was in the Celebration House, with lavender linens, more of those purple flowers and a two-tier cake. After their first dance the dance floor filled up, and the sunglasses came back out.

Heart Sunglasses and a Frisbee

When the sun started to go down we took these two out for a few more portraits, heart sunglasses and all, and up onto the gazebo covered in orange flowers. And then Austin grabbed a frisbee and started throwing it across the lawn in her gown. We love a bride who does her own thing!
